I am a genetic counsellor who obtained an undergraduate and Honours degree in Psychology at the University of South Africa. I spent a year doing trauma counselling and worked as a behavioural therapist for two years. I registered for the Genetic Counselling occasional courses in 2014 and then went on to do a full time MSc (Med) Genetic Counselling degree at the University of Cape Town, which I completed in 2017 and internship in 2018. I have research experience in the field of hereditary visual impairments and hearing impairment. I am currently employed as a research coordinator and genetic counsellor for one of the research groups in the Division. I also assist with the Genetic Counselling occasional courses.
